PRO-VET® Intestinal complete and balanced dry diet food for kittens (from 3 months) and adult cats of all breeds with gastrointestinal disorders, as well as to reduce acute intestinal absorption disorders.
With cats, as with children, you need to be prepared for everything, including various digestive problems. We will look at the most common eating disorders in cats.
There is a myth that a predator’s stomach can digest almost anything – supposedly, in nature, cats eat their prey with bones and other ballast and feel great. At the same time, people are not at all surprised that these same cats, who are supposedly able to digest nearly nails, regurgitate their hair.
In fact, domestic animals eat bones only out of desperation, when they are poorly fed. In nature, cats eat their caught prey carefully, throwing out all the excess. A domestic cat needs to be fed quality food if you want your cat to live a long time and be healthy. The life expectancy of domestic cats is 2-3 times higher than that of street cats – not least due to regular, nutritious food.
Problems with appetite and digestion occur in cats of any breed, age and gender. To ensure that you are armed with information in advance, we will consider the most common of them, but remember: if any changes in your cat’s health occur, you should immediately go to the Vet.
Anorexia in cats – lack of appetite.
Anorexia is not about extreme weight loss, but about unwillingness to eat, weight loss is a secondary symptom. In the case of cats, do not confuse anorexia and ordinary pickiness – for example, if the cat does not want to eat new food, the problem is most probably in the food, not in the appetite.
As in humans, cats’ appetite can decrease for many reasons, in particular:
• stress (moving to a new place, change of owner, appearance of another animal or person in the house);
• depression (yes, this also happens to animals – for example, due to the death of the owner or companion, due to lack of attention, aggression from the owner, etc.);
• increased heat;
• sexual desire;
• kidney disease, liver, stomach, etc.
If your cat has not eaten for more than a day, consult a Veterinarian.
Excessive appetite in cats
If your cat eats enough food or small prey, but still constantly asks for more, perhaps its diet is unbalanced. For the same reason, cats can show persistent interest in human food – bread, fruits, etc. PRO-VET® Intestinal is a very high-quality food, has an optimal amino acid profile, contains valuable fats, vitamins, chelated minerals and herbal extracts. As a result of its well-balanced composition, PRO-VET® Intestinal will fully satisfy your cat’s nutritional needs, so your cat will not need to overeat to get its daily quota of proteins, vitamins, etc.
Nausea and vomiting in cats
Most often, nausea in cats occurs due to hairballs in the stomach. Animals can stimulate vomiting themselves to clear the stomach, for example, by eating grass. PRO-VET® Intestinal is rich in enzymes that help break down and remove hair. This is especially relevant for long-haired cats. Sometimes cats eat too much food at once, after which they vomit. This behavior is especially common in animals taken from the street. In this case, you need to feed your cat more often, but in smaller portions – if your cat still vomits, consult a Veterinarian. Nausea in a cat can also indicate overheating, stress, poisoning, or various diseases. If your cat vomits once, do not panic right away, but if this happens again during the day, consult a Vet.
Constipation and diarrhea
Here, cats are about the same as people: they ate something wrong – diarrhea, they ate something wrong – constipation. Both problems can arise due to stress, hormonal changes in the body (for example, age-related), or certain diseases.
Loose stool in a cat is not a reason to be alarmed if it happens once, but you should see a Vet if it happens again during the day.
Diarrhea does not necessarily indicate illness – some cats have a sensitive digestive tract, and it is enough to simply transfer them to PRO-VET® Intestinal for the problem to be solved in a short time. Constipation in cats can occur due to insufficient drinking – for example, a cat can ignore water in a bowl if it is stale. Also, problems with defecation occur due to the already mentioned hair – it can accumulate not only in the stomach, but also in the intestines, causing constipation and even inflammation. High-quality nutrition such as PRO-VET® Intestinal is the key to a healthy digestion in your cat.

The useful qualities of Yucca facilitate also an improvement in the functioning of digestive system. The naturally plant substratum of Yucca Schidigera is noted by its unique protivoartritnymi, antipyretic and antifungal properties and recoman-ded for the preventive maintenance of dysbacteriosis, intestinal disorders and with the excessive gas formation. Storage
While dry food will not spoil as rapidly as other types of food, it does not last indefinitely. Always make sure that you use such foods before the expiration date. Keep the food dry and store it inside the bag it came in; we design the bags to resist moisture and airflow. The best way to store a large bag of dog or cat food is to place the original bag inside a clean plastic pail or container with a secure lid. Do not store dry food in humid rooms, as damp conditions will accelerate spoiling. Always roll the top of the bag down tightly and cinch it closed with a clip. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that pet owners keep dry foods and treats in locations that do not exceed 23 °C (degrees Calsius) or 74 °F (degrees Fahrenheit).
A healthy cat is a happy cat.
